CNAV representatives met recently with Ron Phillips (Group Account Director, Mitchell & Partners Pty Ltd) to review the situation of state government advertising in community newspapers...... One of the biggest issues was the need to have a current data base and this should include the Local Government Area (LGA) of each of the member papers. This would make it easier for selection of geographic targets when planning advertising campaigns such as a possible Fire Services Property Levy campaign in coming months.
Mitchell and Partners are of the belief that state government advertising placed in community newspapers must be through a single point or agency for efficiency. In the past some community owned newspapers have received advertising placements through Mitchells while others appear to have missed out.
The importance of a CNAV broker is emphasised by this email received from Mitchells in Last year. It is really difficult for our team when they do not have an accurate data base providing all of the important information that is required to efficiently place Victorian Government messages in CNAV publications including accurate advertising rates, publication dates, material deadlines, booking deadlines, material despatch details etc. etc.

We ask you to register by sending an email to bill.penrose@pas.com.au requesting a password. You can then log into the site using the button above and fill out the details. All details have some importance and the more accurate and current the information, the more likely you will receive requests for advertisements. The geographic areas are particularly important for fire advertising.
From time to time we may add extra questions and perhaps throw a few away however the information is important to the government agency to make their work easier and to help them decide where to spend their advertising dollar. Feedback on the questions we should ask and those we should not ask will be appreciated.
Information on the web will not be given to anyone except the government to allow them to asses their requirements. Other papers will not be able to view your information.
For CNAV members there will be no charge for this service and payment for your advertisements will be at the advertised rates after proof of publication. All billings will be to us the CNAV Broker and we will present a bulk bill to the government agents along with a broker fee. Payments will always be by direct deposit to your bank account within 30 days of invoice receipt.
We will regularly email you reminders to check the currency of your information and will email when an advert campaign is starting. Requests for advertising will generally come through the CNAV broker, using the information supplied. If confirmation of a booking is not received shortly after the booking date, it will be assumed that the paper does not wish to run the advertisement.
Could all emails to us contain in the subject line, the words CNAV Broker and your abbreviated paper name. This will ensure no emails are lost.
For CNAV members there will be no charge for this service.
Non CNAV members may use this site, however there will be a fee to be negotiated with the paper. Membership of the CNAV is recommended. To apply for membership, Click here.

Files will be in several forms, select the best to suit your requirements. Mono adverts are also provided if you cannot run colour.
If the size is not exactly right it can be slightly altered provided the ratio of height to width is not changed. Do not change a Tabloid size advert to A4 or vice versa as quality will deteriorate.
